Time
Every action moves the world forward in turns of 5 minutes, so a day has 288 turns. In real time a turn lasts 3 seconds.
The day
| Part of day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Midnight | 0:00–0:59 |
| Night | 1:00–4:59 |
| Dawn | 5:00–6:59 |
| Morning | 7:00–11:59 |
| Noon | 12:00–12:59 |
| Afternoon | 13:00–16:59 |
| Dusk | 17:00–18:59 |
| Evening | 19:00–22:59 |
| Night | 23:00–23:59 |
Outdoors it is dark from 22:00 to 5:00; in winter lands, from 19:00 to 7:00. Indoors (caves, dungeons, buildings) it is always dark unless something gives light. In the dark you miss and fumble spells more often, so carry a light.

How it works
Darkness
Without a light, the hero misses 30% of attacks and 15% of spells fail. Necrotic magic draws on darkness and never fails. Some races regenerate faster in the dark (see Races).
